Day 1
7:03am - Popping the top.
The Blizzard of Spring 09′ is on its way to Denver. That means two things: snow & beer. I just dug an empty Fat Tire bottle out of the recycling bin and put it in my favorite patio chair. When the bottle gets covered later this evening, I am going to walk down to my local beer store and buy some 2 Below and celebrate the blizzard Colorado style.
I will post photo & video updates every hour and maybe even take my camera to the beer store with me later. Update: blizzard bottle beer run video is posted below!
Click thumbnails for larger images.
7:30am - Blizzard bottle baseline. The bottle is 7.5″ tall.
Predicted snowfall: 12 inches +.

8:30am - Snow is starting to stick here in Stapleton.
9:30am - Looks like it has snowed about 1.5 inches in the last hour.

10:30am - The label is almost completely covered.

11:30am - Snow is piling up the neck.
Just got a Tweet from New Belgium!

12:30am - The snow has covered the Fat Tire bottle!
7.5 inches.

1:30pm - Blizzard bottle is buried.
Jeff Motes and I make a beer run.
5:30pm - Jeff and I are drinking 1554.
Watching hits come in from New Belgium’s facbook link to me.

9:17pm - Snow has piled up on the blizzard bottle since nightfall.

Day 2
9:30am - Snow has stopped. Official final blizzard bottle reading: 15.5 inches.

10:30am - Blizzard successfully bottled! Snow shoveling begins.

12:30pm - Blizzard bottle is labeled “Spring Blizzard 09″ &
put up in the garage where my own fat tire bike hangs out.

3-30-09 - New Belgium love shows up via UPS!

Nice work.
Send me your address and we’ll get you and Jeff a little New Belgium love.
MOST excellent! I’m a big NB fan as well… but nearly as dedicated as you!
@Buck…. You gotta try the 1554 if you haven’t before. Jeff and I are drinking some now at the house.
The news needs to predict snowfall in “NBB bottle units” from now on instead of inches. I wonder home many bottles of snow they have for a base in Aspen or Vail ! lol
It’s raining in Fiji right now! I am sitting in my seaside bungalo typing this on my MacBookPro while keeping abreast of the fascinating happenings back in Colorado!
@JR: I have some experience with 1554.
Thanks for dropping by EIP today.
